Life goes on...

June 25, 2012
Mr Water of Life is not progressing like he wanted. He is experiencing some tingling and pain in his hands. We feel that it is a good sign from the neck surgery. The doctor says it may take 6 months or more to see improvement. I think it may be longer considering the length of time of no feelings in his hands. He makes himself accomplish projects with his hands. I don't know how he can do the precision work he does with completely numb hands and fingers. He has a small metal lathe that he uses in his bedroom. He works with coins and it is very detailed work.

He still is having pain in his lower back. It didn't help that he fell out of the bed in the rehab center 2 days after the operation. His follow-up x ray didn't show any visible damage. The scar from the incision and staples (28) is doing well. No infection ever and it is fading, just slightly pink now. It is flat to the skin also. The neck scar is almost gone. That's amazing for a older person.

2 weeks ago he was going down the stairs and slipped on the last step. He just fell straight down and hit his tailbone about a hands width lower from the surgery spot. He was so angry that he had fallen. Since then he was in more pain and could not hardly walk at all. Sitting is still very difficult. So he had to stay in bed on his side most of the time. Just when he was finally feeling like going places in the car. He has one final x-ray next week. Hopefully everything will be fine. The spot is not red or swollen. We think it just bruised the area. Using infared tools on the lower back.

He received a foot brace for his left leg, but finds it to make him off balance when walking. So can only wear it sometimes. But the encouraging thing is that with exercising the foot as much as possible, the up and down motion at the ankle has improved 300%. He no longer is tripping over the dragging foot. Also when the legs are massaged, he can feel it on the front of the legs. In cases like this even the smallest advancement is welcomed.

My problem is that all the work is on me. The wheelchair fits in the car, but is quite heavy to lift it in and out. I am not as fit as I should be and for months have had a lot of pain in my right shoulder and arm area. I can't afford to be down so finally am treating more seriously and trying to rest my arm. Today started the Master Cleanse and hope it helps my arm.

After the 10 or 20 days of the cleanse, then we will start a very serious and detailed eating plan. Mr Water of Life and I should be at least 50 pounds less. Now that the stress level is down, perhaps we will be able to sleep better also. The GABA is really helpful. It just pushes the stress back. We take daily a variety of supplements for the body and brain.

Every once in awhile his feet get swollen, so he drinks more water and does foot baths and it goes away. We keep a close watch on his feet.

With all the set backs, and no exercise, he has put weight back on. So now cutting out food that is not necessary. He also is experiencing wild dreams and still sees things that are not there. We have been told this is still side effects from the pain meds. . In 10 days we will start a very serious and detailed eating plan. Mr Water of Life and I should be at least 50 pounds less each. Now that the stress level is down, perhaps we will be able to sleep better also. The GABA is really helpful. It just pushes the stress back. We take daily a variety of supplements for the body, which I can see really make a difference. We do the salt water cleanse drink every morning also. No sodas, no liquor, no sweets and try to stay away from white foods (breads, rice and flour). 1/2 diet - raw foods. Going to try eating 6 times a day and smaller portions.

If he can just walk and perhaps drive again, he will lose his problems. Mr Water of Life is trying to be positive but it is not easy because he so wants to see some improvements. So we just keep trying our natural methods, staying away from drugs. His skin has better color now. Healthy pink instead of the greyish tone when he was on the drugs. His humor is also much better too. Only time will tell the results.

Thanks for reading all this.

Reactions from drug withdrawal

May 21, 2012
We are thinking that the pain pills caused more problems than the pain! What a nightmare it has been for more than two weeks since he stopped them. Oxycodone (5-350 mg each tablet) was given him starting in November for the neck surgery. Which he continued with through the back surgery. The nurses and therapists told him not to wait until he felt pain, but to take it before pain.To make it easier for him. He was taking about 6 a day. So he did that, but knows now that for him that was not goo...

Progress after surgery

May 11, 2012

Mr Water of Life's x rays showed this week that the lower spinal cord operation is progressing for the good. New growth of bone and no problems with it from his fall in the Rehab Center. His surgeon was almost afraid to look at the x rays. Thank goodness everything looked good. The doctor told him it will take time to recover. Especially since he had 2 operations within less than 6 months time. Mr Water told him that he had given up all medications including the pain pills although he still h...

Lower spine operation

April 18, 2012
The good news is that the surgery went without any problems. It took about 2 hours. The surgeon is very capable and has done thousands of this operation. There was much damage to the discs and he had to rearrange the bone to give more strength in places. Thank goodness no metal plates were necessary. The doctor tries to have the back heal as normally as possible. Mr. Water's incision is about 7" long. They used 28 metal staples to hold it together.

He stayed in hospital for 2 days. Because of...

Lower Spinal Operation

March 18, 2012
The doctors have viewed the lower spine back area on MRI and x ray and determined the damage of the discs. Mr Water has problems in 1,2,3 and 4 areas. The spinal cord is pinched in several places and the disc are putting pressure on the nerves. Surprisingly he does not feel constant pain, only when he tries to stand for more than a few minutes. The pressure is causing his left foot to drop down with no control. So when trying to walk he trips over his foot and falls. His balance has become wo...

More on the Master Cleanse

March 4, 2012
We forgot to tell about the benefits from the master cleanse. He did it for 10 days. 20 pounds lost. Blood sugar went down. The reason for it was to detox the drugs used in the hospital. It really helps cleanse the liver and kidneys. He didn't mind doing it. He is going to do it in another month or so. He doesn't know yet when or if surgery will be soon. Everyone should know about the master cleanse. It is easy and not horrible. Of course urine therapy is more complete for the body. We are st...

New discoveries

March 4, 2012
In November 2011 Mr Water had the neck surgery. The x-rays show the area to be healing at a fast rate. The doctors are very pleased at his process. We believe it is due to the methods he has been using after the operation. But the numbness is still there in his hands, maybe will take more time for that to improve. His balance is worse now. He can't walk without the aid of a walker or leaning on someone plus his cane. His left foot is dropping down as he tries to walk. Several times he tripped...

Progress with master cleanse

January 19, 2012
Just a short update on Mr Water of Life on the master cleanse. This is the 5th day doing it. No cheating! He has lost 10 pounds without hunger. He likes the taste. Sometimes we mix some lime juice also in it. One time we put the whole lemon and whole lime in the juicer. It was very thick so mixed it with some water. It was really delicious. The cayenne pepper burns his throat, so he uses ground ginger instead. The thing that has him the most excited is that his blood sugar count today was 81. ...

Mission: Just got to get better soon!

January 16, 2012
Mr. Water of Life is so tired of not being able to do the things he used to do. Because of the numbness in his limbs he is not able to walk much. He has trouble picking up things because he can't feel anything at all. So his life is very dull. Even hobbies are difficult, like stamp collecting, coin collecting. Just try to pick up a stamp when you can't feel it! So the operation he had in November hopefully will open the way for energy and blood circulation. We always thought that the reason f...

January news

January 13, 2012
Mr Water of Life has been recovering from his operation in November. The operation was done from the front of the neck with a very small (2 inches) incision. It was easier to reach the damaged discs and less danger to the spinal cord. The skin is healing very nicely and is hardly visible already. There was no problems with the surgery. We must admit that the methods used today are very advanced than just 10 years ago. The doctor used a high tech plastic to replace the discs that were badly da...
